Goals and Mission

The Nassau County Council of School Superintendents (NCCSS) is a professional organization representing fifty-seven Nassau County school districts, including Nassau BOCES. The Council serves approximately 220,000 students and fifty-seven superintendents of schools. Council members are highly-respected leaders and the decision-makers of their school districts.

Council members represent many of the finest and highest achieving school districts in Nassau County and New York State. The quality of education in Nassau County is the pride of New York State and serves as a model for other school districts to emulate.

The Council serves as the voice of public education in Nassau County advocating on the local, state and national levels for the needs of our students and our communities. The Council works closely with other educational organizations and legislators throughout the state on issues impacting the quality of education, improving student achievement, shared services, state and federal funding and legislative initiatives.

The Council also provides numerous opportunities for its members to expand their knowledge and to collaborate with colleagues on key issues. The decisions made by Council members have a significant impact on the success of Nassau County schools.
